Brief: A university wanted a mobile storage solution for its library, with a twist.
Our client, Knowles & Son were contracted (as part of a £500,000 refurbishment contract) to provide furniture, partitions, and mobile library shelving to the new library, in keeping with the traditional feel of the original building. That traditional feel also had to be balanced with the need for high-density storage.
The proposed solution enclosed the steel mobile storage bases with wooden fascia panels and used wooden shelving to create the desired effect.
Compact Storage, together with Knowles & Son, developed a totally unique solution that exceeded the client’s expectations.
The completed installation perfectly matched the finished environment and is probably the only system of its kind in the UK.
